A series of plastic molds/aligners will be machined based on digitally pre-planned tooth movements to achieve the teeth movements goal. The transparent material is the least visible and thus most esthetic among the different orthodontic appliances.

The plastic aligners wrap over the entire tooth surface and encroach on the tongue space slightly so it might alter speech slightly.

The aligners need to be changed weekly and are removable by you during hygiene maintenance and food intake.

It is the most costly of the 3 types of appliances offered in Quek And Me and needs disciplined compliance for it to work well.

Treatment is pre-planned and thus not modifiable without a new scan, movements re-planned digitally and new series of aligners fabricated.

The movement control is not as definite as the other 2 types of appliances.

Metallic brackets, wires, and components are used. The treatment plan is adjustable and modifiable along the way.
Hence, very adaptable to unexpected changes.

Metallic wire and components are very compatible with each other, and movements are faster than ceramic brackets. Brackets are placed on the outer surface of teeth and do not encroach on tongue space, therefore speech is not affected much.
​
The appliance is not removable by yourself. Food intake and brushing are, as usual, with slight modification. Less compliance is required on your part.

Ceramic braces are similar to metal braces except that the brackets used are made from ceramic.

Ceramic brackets are less visible compared to the metal brackets, thus more esthetic.
​
Ceramic brackets are larger and their presence can be more obvious than metallic brackets, thus slightly less comfortable than metallic brackets.
​
It is marginally more costly than metallic brackets and friction is higher between ceramic brackets and metallic wire, so treatment time is usually longer.
